Task One: Rehearsal schedule and time management
Rehearsal schedule
Below is the rehearsal schedule for SIX the musical, who was needed, and specific timings were included for us to follow.
Time management
Time management was vital and very important for this production. Each and every one of us had to make sure we were available for each rehearsal, this especially for days on our timetable where we aren't usually in. I take pride in my own personal time management and punctuality; I know I am usually early/on time and rarely late to things, so this schedule was easy for me to follow. It was important for me to be in every rehearsal including open events and extra rehearsals, making sure I was attending every rehearsal, so I wasn't missing anything added or changed. It was also important that I was using my time wisely, making sure on late night rehearsals/shows, I had completed any work for the next day ahead of time. I made sure to use my rehearsal time wisely by making sure I was always giving every rehearsal my full focus and attention, always taking absorbing information and choreography to take away and practice in my own time later.
Tech/dress, spiking, spacing runs
Having these rehearsals clearly laid out on the schedule allows us to know what to bring to the specific rehearsal. It also helps us with what the day is going to look like for example and spiking run helps to make sure everyone is in the correct spot at the correct time for lighting ques, prop cues etc., so we would not typically have to be dancing/singing whereas, a dress run we need full costume, hair, makeup and energy to be able to mimic what the real show is going to look like. These specified rehearsals keep the process smooth and simple for everyone involved.
The importance of rehearsal schedules
Overall, these schedules are very vital to the whole cast and crew, it makes sure everyone is in the right place at the right time to assure a smooth rehearsal process. It also makes sure everyone is sticking to deadlines and leaving the correct amount of time to complete necessary tasks before the show.
