Task One: Teacher Feedback of performance of SIX

 Teacher feedback

From this feedback I can confirm that I delivered a strong performance, with a strong understanding of style and choreographic intent. I communicated the meaning of each number through my facial expressions and characterization. I can also confirm that my accuracy in delivering the style and intent of each number was very strong throughout, consistently showing and executing the jazz techniques with confidence. This was evident in 'Ex-wives', specifically the dance break where I was executing strong isolations, contractions and maintaining a low center of gravity, all jazz techniques.
I can also affirm from this feedback that I had a strong grasp on the choreographic intent/ dance idea and was successful in communicating the story and meaning behind each song, shown specifically in 'No Way'. Again, in this number being positively told that the dance break section was strong and that I that my sense of style was very accurate, having a great understanding of the jazz/musical theatre technique and style.
I can also see that I have a 'diverse range' of styles when it comes to dance, this was seen in heart of stone where we contrasted completely and performed using lyrical jazz techniques where I showed strong extension and storytelling through movement.
My musicality and rhythm were positively noted as it was consistently accurate and strong throughout the whole show with overly accurate timing in every number.

Improvements

Need to improve on my special awareness however as I felt in some numbers, I was too close to my peers. For example, in No Way when we are all stood in a tight group together, I found myself getting too close to the person next to me, meaning I couldn't fully extend my limbs to complete each movement. Also, during Ex Wives, I noticed that I sometimes didn't make it to the center correctly for the final dance break. I plan on improving this skill through practicing on using my peripheral vison during group dance classes/rehearsals. I will do this by focusing on who is around me and making sure to think about where I am going and where I need to be.
